How would you act as the parent?!?

I'm a 13 year old girl and I told my parents about a boyfriend I've had and I told them how long I've been dating him. I got in an argument with my parents and after I started cussing and swearing I got slapped and spanked but they stopped when I started crying. They said I got spanked for me lying, cussing, swearing, not listening, and being disrespectful! But now I got grounded longer than I was before so now I'm ground exactly 3 months but I might get ungrounded early if I behave. So what would you have done as the parent?
