What was your parents role in you getting a car?

Sweet 16, it's been vamped up and showcased among all of us teens. Although I know that's not how it happens to most of us teens. So I wonder what was the role your parents play in getting you a car? Did they pay? Did you get their old car? etc. use detail I am pretty interested to know how parents are responding to their children growing in adults....... I know it varies but im looking to make connections in the roles parents are playing, so the more the merrier . Also hopefully to draw attention take a second to hit the interesting button that way I can get more than 2 responses. Again, thanks
