Is it okay to wear a rosary around your hand at all times?

Okay so, my rosary isnt all like blinged out its got metal pieces and wood on it. I wear it around my hand all the time for protection and my love for god I do not wear it as a fashion statement, but is this okay? is it like disrespectful to wear it all the time and not just for when you are praying?
