What can I do to get my parent to let me have a facebook?

My parents think that I am too "young" to have a facebook. I am a very smart, responsible, 12 year old girl. They think that I am disrespectful. All my friends have a facebook and wish that they could add me. My mom has one but she won't let me add my real friends to her facebook. I am not allowed to have a lot of sleepovers and "play" dates with my friends so I was thinking that socializing on facebook would be a better idea. But no! Should we have a family talk because we never had one before? Any suggestions?
